Mourinho is reportedly hoping to seal a deal for James Rodriguez. Invictos

Reports claim that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is hoping to pip his Chelsea counterpart Antonio Conte to another signing.

The 'Sunday Express' claims that United are hoping to seal a deal for Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez, from under the noses of Chelsea.

Fresh from swooping for Romelu Lukaku, Mourinho looks set to infuriate Antonio Conte once again, with a move for the 25-year-old.

News broke on Saturday that James had decided to leave the Bernabeu this summer after growing tired of being a bit-part player.

The former Monaco man appeared in just 33 of Real Madrid's 60 games last season and with the signing of Real Betis' Dani Ceballos all but confirmed, James has decided his future lies elsewhere.

A move to the Premier League has been heavily mooted and Spanish newspaper 'Sport' claims that the player's agent, Jorge Mendes, has been trying to find a buyer in England.

Now, the 'Sunday Express' claims that Jose Mourinho is looking to bring the player in. Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is said to be desperate to bring in Monaco's Kylian Mbappe this summer and although there is no need to sell before they buy, the sale of James would boost the transfer kitty significantly.

Would James be a good signing for Manchester United? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
