It appears Manchester United will not be able to sign Napoli defender, Kim Min-jae, as he looks set to join Bayern Munich on a €50 million deal. 'Sky Sports Germany' report a verbal agreement has been reached with the German champions.

As the Bundesliga champions prepare to lose Lucas Hernandez to PSG, they waste no time securing his replacement. 'Sky Sports Germany' report that Napoli defender Kim Min-jae will join Bayern on a five-year deal, and a verbal agreement has been reached.

The same outlet reports he will earn between €10 and €12 million-per-season with the Germans, and they will pay a release clause in the region of €50 million

It comes as a blow to Manchester United, as 'Daily Mail' reports the Red Devils were preparing to improve their offer to tempt the defender to the Premier League.

They are yet to make a signing this summer, as they have reached a stalemate over Chelsea's Mason Mount and are still facing uncertainty over the future of goalkeeper David De Gea.

Kim would have been a steadying force for the Manchester outfit, as he played a huge role in bringing Napoli their first Scudetto in over 30 years, and missed just three league matches over the season.
