According to the 'Daily Mail', Manchester United will open talks with Jose Mourinho over a new contract before the end of the season.

The Portuguese boss sparked some fears in the United hierachy when he said publicly that he would not retire at Old Trafford, as well as hinting at a future move to Paris-Saint Germain.

Mourinho still has 18 months left on his current deal with the Red Devils, with the option of a further year which would take him to 2020.

The Manchester club are reportedly keen for the 54-year-old coach to stay much longer than his current contract, with 'Daily Mail' suggseting that they want him to stay for as long as a decade.

However, this seems unlikely given Mourinho's comments to French publication 'Telefoot', during the week.

According to the aforementioned source, the club will commence talks over a new deal in the coming months, following United's positive start to the season which sees them just two points behind rivals Manchester City at the summit of the Premier League.
