Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic could both make their long-awaited return from injury during Manchester United's Premier League clash against Newcastle on Saturday.

Both players have returned to full training with the United squad following their respective injuries and they are reportedly in contention for a spot on the bench as United host Newcastle this weekend.

Pogba has not played since September 19, when he limped off in the first half of United's 3-0 win over Basel in the Champions League.

The £89m club record signing started the season in fine form for the Red Devils and had struck up a good relationship with Nemanja Matic in midfield.

Romelu Lukaku has clearly been feeling the absence of his team-mate and close friend, as the Belgian striker has now gone seven games without a goal.

Meanwhile, Ibrahimovic is yet to feature for United this season after injuring his cruciate knee ligament back in April. The Swedish striker was initially released by the Premier League club at the end of last season, but then was offered a new deal back in August and his recovery has been much quicker than anticipated.

This weekend, according to 'The Sun', Jose Mourinho is set for a huge boost as both superstars are ready to return to action.

With United eight points behind league leaders Manchester City, the return of the duo has come at a vital time for Mourinho, especially if Pogba carries on from where he left off at the start of this campaign.

Whilst the return of the creative French midfielder is sure to help out Lukaku, Zlatan's return could also help as he can provide competition for the mis-firing striker.
