Samuel Umtiti was injured again, but this time to his shoulder. The Lecce player left the pitch in tears after another incident involving a muscular problem. However, the injury did not go any further and the Frenchman has now recovered and trained normally with his teammates.

Frenchman Samuel Umtiti, the Barcelona player on loan at Lecce until the end of the season, trained normally with the rest of his team-mates on Tuesday, having recovered from the shoulder injury he suffered last Saturday.

Umtiti had to be substituted against Hellas Verona after a hard collision with Bosnian striker Milal Djuric. The French centre-back, an established starter and the undisputed leader of the newly-promoted Serie A side's backline, tried to rejoin the game, but was soon forced off.

Three days later, Lecce reported that Umtiti trained as normal: "Blin, Gendrey and Umtiti resumed regular training with the group, while Gallo and Persson did individual work".

The defender is going through his best moment since his arrival in Italy and has made nine consecutive starts, being fundamental in winning points in several matches with his actions.

The Apulia (south) side are eighteenth on 20 points, eight points clear of relegation, in what has been a great season for a newly-promoted team, the club with the fewest goals conceded in the bottom ten.

The agreement between the transalpine club and Barcelona does not contemplate any compulsory purchase clause, so Umtiti will return to the 'Cules' next June.
