'La Gazzetta dello Sport' explained that the date of 7th August, which had been spoken about by Jean-Michel Aulas, is only one of the options considered.

On Saturday, Lyon president, Jean Michel-Aulas, surprised when he placed 7th August as the date for the restart of the Champions League.

The French president explained that the match will take place behind closed doors- something that seems a given- and pointed out new details, although these would still to be confirmed.

Thus, according to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' on Sunday in the words of UEFA, the dates which have been speculated aren't official or set.

UEFA confirmed to the source that they are monitoring the evolution of the health crisis before choosing a firm date.

UEFA confirmed that one of the dates that they are considering is the leaked date, 7th August, but there are some other possibilities, as well as having to wait to see whether or not national competitions have ended.

"Nothing has been decided, nothing at all," said a UEFA spokesperson to settle the matter and keep the football community on tenterhooks.
