Atletico Madrid are preparing for the 2021-22 season. One of their objectives is to sign Rodrigo De Paul. Simeone wants him in the midfield for next season.

But Udinese, the club which he is currently at, have made clear that nothing has been agreed. "There's lots of distance (between the two parties), but negotiations are continuing," Pierpaolo Marino of Udinese told 'Radio Kiss Kiss',

"Atletico are the team in the best position, but there are other clubs who want him," Pierpaolo Marino said. "The move has not been done yet," he stressed.

That may be a message to Atletico to up their bid for De Paul. The La Liga side reportedly have the green light from the player, who they are thinking of paying 3.5 million euros a season,

Atletico Madrid's offer to Udinese is apparently 35 million euros, an amount which does not seem enough for Udinese.
