With the group stage now over, the semi-finals of an exciting U21 Euros in Italy have been decided. On one side of the draw, Spain meet France, whilst Germany and Romania also face off for a place in the final.

Romania's draw with France was enough for both teams to edge through to the semis, where the best four teams will meet to battle it out for a place in the final.

Semi-final 1: Spain v France

Spain, who topped Group A thanks to a 5-0 thrashing of Poland on Saturday, will meet a France side who booked their place in the semi-finals thanks to a lacklustre 0-0 draw with surprise package Romania.

Luis de la Fuente's side will be pinning their hopes on their midfield duo of Dani Ceballos and Fabián Ruiz, both of who starred in the Poland mauling, to help them reach the final.

They will face a French outfit that had to come from behind to beat England, who failed to live up to their tag as one of the favourites, before beating Croatia and drawing with Romania.

The two footballing heavyweights will meet at the Mapei Stadum de Reggio Emilia at 21:00 Spanish time on Thursday.

Semi-final 2: Germany v Romania

On the other side of the draw, an impressive Germany side who dropped just two points when they'd already qualified face off against the surprise package of the tournament in Romania, who have a promising generation of players coming through the ranks.

With history in their favour, Germany go into the game as favourites, having scored a tournament-high 10 goals across their three group stage matches.

Romania will try to ride their wave of confidence in a bid to upset the Germans and reach their first continental final. They've already made history as they beat Croatia and England to qualify for the semis in just their second ever competition.

This semi-final will be played at the Dall'Ara de Bolonia at 18:00 Spanish time on Thursday, preceding the other last four matchup.
