The debate over who should be Chelsea's starting goalkeeper continues. Edouard Mendy is trying his best to earn the spot at the moment. He was sensational against Krasnodar in the Champions League.

Kepa is in big trouble. It is now months since he lost the trust of Frank Lampard and the manager brought in his replacement in the shape of Eduoard Mendy. The new man is the first-choice at the moment.

The reason? His performances are far better than the Spaniard's. Last time out in the Champions League, the Blues faced Krasnodar and he made several good saves to earn a spot in the UEFA Team of the Week.

His manager praised him in the post-match press conference, putting him on a pedestal. It hasn't all been a bed of roses: his mistake nearly cost Chelsea a goal after a poor pass left Lampard terrified.

However, Kepa is leading the way in terms of errors leading to goals. Against Southampton in the league just last week, he was at fault for one goal conceded. Lampard and Mendy might just be closing in around the Spaniard.
