We have reached the deadline of the January transfer window so it’s time to take a look at the players who signed a (lucrative) contract with a Chinese Super League club this month.

- Carlos Tevez has become the world’s best-paid footballer after signing with Shanghai Shenhua for reported weekly wages of over 750,000 euros.

- Oscar has joined Shanghai SIPG from Chelsea

- Alex Witsel signed for Tianjin Quanjian from Zenit

- Alexandre Pato followed Witsel’s example by joining Tianjin Quanjian from Villarreal

- Tjaronn Chery signed for Guizhou Zhicheng from QPR

- Watford accepted a bid of 20m pounds from Changchun Yatai for Odion Ighalo and while the player initially said he does not want to move to China, he is to pass a medical and is expected to sign before the transfer window shuts closed.
