Villarreal welcomed Juan Foyth this Sunday. The club confirmed the arrival of the Tottenham central defender. The Argentine will play at Villarreal on loan this season and the 'Yellow Submarine' will have the option to make the move permanent later on.
As media outlets had reported on Saturday, Foyth will play for Villarreal. The defender begins a new adventure in La Liga.
"Villarreal and Tottenham have reached an agreement on Juan Foyth, who will play for Villarreal during the current 2020-21 campaign. The agreement includes an option to buy at the end of the season," Villarreal said.
Villarreal said that once the player comes back from international duty with Argentina, the central defender will link up with Unai Emery and the team.
The La Liga outfit highlight Foyth's ability to think ahead and skill to win back possession. "He is very good at the playing the ball out and very strong in the air. Thanks to his versatility, he can play both in the centre of defence as well as at right back," the club continued.
In the 2019-20 season, Foyth played seven games for Tottenham. He started three of them. The Argentine is confident of playing more often for the Spanish club.
