The Danish international has two years left on his current contract, and Tottenham will be hoping to secure the 26-year-old for the long-term.

Talks between the club and the player's representationm have been going on for the last six months, but no agreement has been reached.

Eriksen is reportedly wanting to be paid as much as Harry Kane and World Cup winner Hugo Lloris.

According to the 'Daily Mail' Kane's new contract is worth around £300,000 a week with bonuses.

Eriksen has 82 caps for Denmark and has received interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona in the past.

If no new deal is signed, Spurs are in a difficult situation, with Eriksen only one year away from a free transfer.

Eriksen is a key man in Pochettino's lineup, and the player is unlikely to take a new deal unless he feels that his worth is reflected.
