Tottenham deny Carroll links
The club have rebuffed reports that they are interested in signing the West Ham striker as cover for the injury Harry Kane.
Although the first team playing squad is short of options up front; Harry Kane is out until March and Heung-min Son is away at the Asia Cup, they will not be attempting to sign the former Newcastle and Liverpool striker. Spaniard Fernando Llorente led the line for Pochettino's side against Fulham on Sunday, but his shakey performance and unfortunate own goal, led to calls for the club to enter the transfer market.
However, in spite of numerous rumours linking Tottenham to a move for Andy Carroll, the club have denied that such talk is true.
Instead, Tottenham seem set to back a series of academy prospects. Young 20 year old forward Kazaiah Sterling was handed a place on the bench for the sides narrow victory over Fulham at the weekend, and could be in line for a senior debut in the coming games.
