Barca are fully focused on the 'departures operation' in order to be able to reinforce their squad. The first sale seemed to be very close to happening, as Tottenham initially wanted to sign Clement Lenglet in exchange for around 6 million euros.
Although there was a certain understanding at the beginning, the deal has collapsed. The Spurs officially announced on Thursday that the French centre-back will return to the Camp Nou at the end of his loan spell.
"We can confirm the departures of Arnaut Danjuma and Clement Lenglet following the conclusion of their loan spells with us," the English club said in an official statement. The London club also confirmed that the French defender's Dutch team-mate will join Villarreal.
'Sport' already advanced a few days ago that the big difference between clubs was that Barca were asking for 12 million euros. However, the English wanted to pay half that amount. Even so, everything pointed to the agreement being close. In the end, everything went wrong at the last minute.
