Fernando Torres has given his philosophical outlook on life: Atlético Madrid is a pure reflection on our own lives - sometimes you lose, and sometimes you win. In this sense we all have a bit of 'Atleti' within.

The self proclamed 'Niño' opened up his heart in a very personal interview with Spanish newspaper 'El Mundo'. The returing 'colchonero' explained what it really meant to him to be part of the successful Spanish outfit. "Everyone is from Atleti, they just don't know it. Juan Luis Cano said to me: in life you lose more than you gain. Winning isn't an objective, just compensation," he said.

In the same way of thinking, he considers that to be a good footballer, you need to firstly be a good person. Footballers aren't considered heroes for nothing, and Torres believes that true idols are found on the streets: "A single mum who looks after 5 kids on her own, working 12 hours a day, now thats a true idol", he exclaimed.

Lastly, he wanted to make clear he position in respect to football, which is becoming increasing looked down upon by the general public. "Football is a business, which is a shame. A lot of times we [the footballers] are the ones to blame, promoting the opposite of humility...I think that children shouldn't see it. However I think people look into it too much, and think that is all football is, which it isn't."

Fernando Torres continues to demostrate yet again that he continues to be the same ''Niño' with a love for football, which grew on the banks of 'Manzanares' kicking a football about.
