Although all eyes are focused on a transfer market that has been frenetic since its inception, several clubs have already begun to focus on the following summer, in which, as of today, players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Pogba and Pedri would be free.

Now that the future of Leo Messi and Sergio Ramos, the biggest names of the summer who have signed for Paris Saint-Germain, has been resolved, the focus will turn to other players. There are a number of really interesting players whose contracts expire in 2022 and who could therefore start negotiating with other clubs from next winter.

Here are some of the players whose contracts expire in 2022

Kylian Mbappe

The French striker is another of the agitators of the current market. After it was leaked that he will not renew his contract with PSG, he will be able to negotiate his move wherever he wants next summer.

Leon Goretzka

Bayern Munich would be wrong to let go of one of their most influential midfielders just like that. At 26 years of age, he is a tangible reality and has a promising future.

Cristiano Ronaldo

The Portuguese is still an insatiable player. After finishing last season as the 'Capocannoniere' of Serie A with 29 goals, his hunger and self-demanding nature are still beyond question. At 36 years of age, it seems clear that he still has a long way to go.

Lorenzo Insigne

Will this be his last year at Napoli? The Italian winger is an icon at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. His 392 appearances, 109 goals and 81 assists for the Neapolitans would be welcomed by virtually any team in the world.

Paul Pogba

The midfielder's future at Manchester United remains uncertain. After rumours of a possible return to Juventus, the reality is that, if he remains at Old Trafford and does not renegotiate his contract, he could go wherever he wants for free in July 2022.

Ansu Fati

The young Spaniard has been unlucky. This season was set to be his breakthrough season, but injury has ruled him out for almost the entire season. He started with Barca really well, scoring five goals and providing two assists in just ten games.

Eduardo Camavinga

After Mbappe, possibly France's most promising player. Madrid, Liverpool, Barcelona, PSG... There are many teams that have already tried to sign him. If everything continues like this, he will be a free agent next summer.

Paulo Dybala

Who's bitter about a sweet? Paulo Dybala's quality has been more than proven since he landed at Palermo back in the 2012-13 season. With a bit more consistency, who knows what he would have been capable of.

Karim Benzema

He arrived in July 2009 and is more important than ever. Benzema wants to stay at Real Madrid, who want to reward the Frenchman for his good performance, but the announcement of his contract extension is not yet official.

Ousmane Dembélé

The Frenchman is still looking for his place at Barcelona. He had his best season at Camp Nou in 2020-21, with eleven goals and five assists in 44 games. Despite this improvement, his future seems to be a perennial unknown.
