According to Argentine TV channel 'TodoNoticias', the Argentina squad have united against manager Jorge Sampaoli in the wake of their loss to Croatia, asking him not to take charge of their final World Cup group game against Nigeria.

The fallout from the Albiceleste's shock 3-0 thumping at the hands of Zlatko Dalic's side has already been spectaular and as if Argentina's position wasn't delicate enough already, it appears that they could now be set for a change of manager.

The aforementioned source claims that Sampaoli has been asked by a number of senior players not to take charge of Argentina's game against the 'Super Eagles' on Tuesday June 26.

That assessment is based on an unnamed source within the Argentine FA, with 'TodoNoticias' going as far as to claim that Sampaoli has accepted the requests for him to leave. Other news sources meanwhile, including 'TyCSports' suggest that Jorge Burruchaga could be set to replace Samapoli at the helm.
