Amid rumours of a move to the Chinese club, and with Spanish source 'SER' confirming Diego Costa's signing on Wednesday, Tianjin Quanjian have released an official statement.
The Chinese club have declared that the rumours regarding a multi-million deal to sign striker Diego Costa are not true, despite continuous links made betweem the Spanish striker and the Chinese Super League.
The official statement read: 'Dear media and football fans, with regards to the current widespread rumours of Chelsea player Diego Costa joining Tianjin Quanjian, the club would like to make clear that no discussions have taken place regarding the transfer'.
Many sources had assured that Tianjin Quanjian were prepared to offer the Chelsea man around 30 million euros a year. Chelsea were also reported to be set to receive 90 million euros for their striker.
