Ian Rush, the legendary ex-Liverpool player, analysed Gareth Bale's current situation at Real Madrid. In his eyes, the criticism he has received on his performance is undeserved, and for that reason Rush sent a message to Real fans.
"I think people are seeing things that I haven't been seeing," said Ian Rush. "They should be applauding Gareth Bale because I was there last year [the 2018 Champions League final] - he scored a wonder goal against Liverpool."
Ian Rush addressed the criticism that Gareth Bale has received over recent months, after an underwhelming few years at Real Madrid. He has been plagued by injury, as well as receiving intermittent support from an unappreciative boss.
Despite many suggesting that the summer will see his exit from the Bernebeu, Gareth Bale is trying with all his might to retain his place at Real Madrid.
Ian Rush supported his decision but also suggested that "if he wants to come back [to English football], there'll be lots of clubs after him."
