Yerry Mina's representatives Mario Mauri and Francisco David Rey have told 'TMW' that there is no deal in place to take their client to Barcelona in the future, with the only agreement between Palmeiras and Barca a first option.

When asked about the deal, which many thought had already been done, the pair opted to clarify the rumours, saying: "There is a preliminary agreement in place, but there is nothing in writing."

"The player is still open to look for a new club, just as any club is free to make an offer for the player. Plenty of clubs are keeping an eye on Mina at the moment, he's a Palmeiras player who wants to test himself in European football."

In an apparent attempt to drum up interest, the player's representatives also revealed the fee it would take for Palmeiras to let the player leave the club. "In the current market Yerry would be valued at around €10-15m," they explained.

Finally, Rey opened up about the player for those who may not have heard of him. "He's the best defender in South America," he enthused.

"He's 6'5" and scores more than his fair share. He likes to go forward and is very strong defensively. He moves like Barzagli."
