A journalist in Vanuatu was the only person among the deciding committee for FIFA's 'The Best' awards, who felt that one of the most in-form strikers in the world, Harry Kane, was worth his vote in the best player category.
While Tottenham owner Daniel Levy values his star striker at 200 million euros, Harry Kane came last in the voting for the best player at FIFA's 'The Best' awards. Kane only received 15 votes, just 0.33% of the total vote.
It turns out that just one of the voters thinks the England striker is the best of them all, and was the only person to give Kane the maximum vote of five points. This honour was bestowed upon the Tottenham star by Vanuatu journalist, Raymond Nase, who was given a say in the ceremony organized by FIFA.
The 24-year-old also received three points from a Cambodian journalist, as well as the captain of Montserrat. Not to mention the solitary point awarded to him by the captain of the British Virgin Islands, the Bahamas coach, Wales coach Chris Coleman and finally France captain Hugo Lloris, also his team-mate at Spurs.
In short, the majority of Kane's votes came from some of the more obscure corners of the footballing world. His lethal goalscoring form in recent months which has seen him become arguably one of the top strikers in the world, didn't stop him picking up last place of the players nominated for 'The Best' award.
Maybe in years to come he'll be at the other end of the table...
