Former Belgian Eurodeputy has requested that the operation is investigated by the European Commission in 2013

Derk Jan Eppink, the Belgian Conservative Member, assures that he already took part in the thorough investigation of everything that was in relation with the transfer in 2013. "I had a gut feeling that something wasn´t right in the transfer of Bale. I knew that Bankia was the bank reference of Real Madrid, which could imply that the money sent over from Europe to save the bank was being used to help the white club gain the Welsh player" he commented to the programme, ´Què t’hi jugues’, Radio Barcelona.

The filtration of Football Leaks, that talks about the 101 million euros, seem to support the former Eurodeputy, in terms of the high interests that the white club paid Bankia for the transaction, notes ´Mundo Deportivo´.

"I was a member of the Economic Commitee of the European Parliament, therefore I wrote a question to Joaquín Almunia, who was the Commissioner for Competition. We also spoke about it informally. I had the sensation that there was something in the contract that wasn´t right, it was a suspicious subject." he explained.

A transfer that is still today, more than two and a half years later, causing doubts.
