The team who have only led at home for three minutes in 2017

It has been miserable a year for Sunderland fans, who have only seen their team in the lead at the Stadium of Light for three minutes as their 20-game winless run at home continues.

Following their relegation to the Championship last May, Sunderland's steady decline has no perceivable end. Manager Simon Grayson was fired after the Black Cats drew 3-3 with basement club Bolton, meaning the supporters have now sat through 20 home games without seeing their side win.

But it was in that game that Sunderland finally took the lead for the first time since December 2016. Lewis Grabban's strike saw them go briefly in front until Gary Madine cancelled out his effort three minutes later.

The first time Sunderland put themselves in front since Patrick van Anholt gave them the lead against Watford on December 17, and it lasted 180 seconds.

Putting on some traumatising displays for the home fans, Sunderland have drawn eight and lost 12 so far in 2017, with everyone on Wearside desperately in need of a victory to boost morale.
