The English newspaper claimed on Friday that Real Madrid will go for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba when the transfer window opens in summer. Although it won't come cheap...

According to 'The Sun', Florentino Perez wants to bring the Frenchman to the Bernabeu to add some strength and firepower to 'Los Blancos' after losing out on the 24-year-old to United in 2016.

However, if they are to secure Pogba's signature, Madrid will have to splash the cash as the Manchester club has no intention of selling their most expensive signing (£89m), who is only in the second stage of his five-year contract, with reports suggesting a bid would have to exceed £120m.

Much will depend on the player though and whether he wishes to leave Old Trafford. Recently, he has faced criticism for his lacklustre performances in the 'Red Devils' last three Premier League games but head coach Jose Mourinho has been quick to praise the French midfielder to keep his confidence from dipping.

Rumours have also been emerging that Pogba will receive a new playing role in the starting XI, which could help to improve matters, but either way Madrid will be keeping an eye on developments just in case things turn sour before the season ends in May.
