Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looks to be on his way out of Borussia Dortmund. As he nears a move to Chelsea, the German side have looked for an alternative.
As the Gabon international prepares to exit the club, Dortmund are looking for possibilities to bolster their attacking options. According to the Mirror, the favourite to take Aubameyang's place is Olivier Giroud.
The French striker will likely play second fiddle to new signing Lacazette, for whom Arsenal have made a huge investment.
That would help Borussia Dortmund make a move for Giroud, even though he is a completely different striker to Aubameyang, which is surprising.
The Gabonese centre-forward is electric, ideal for counterattacking football, while Giroud is a more old-fashioned type of striker, great in the air and playing with his back to the goal.
It seems quite a peculiar option for Dortmund due to the vast differences between one player and the other, but the Mirror insists the Arsenal man is the German club's No 1 target.
