The Champions League returns to our screens on Tuesday evening with eight meetings from Groups A, B, C and D. Of the 16 teams in action, seven could seal their place in the next round of Europe's elite competition tonight.

In Group A, B and D, things are fairly simple, but it is still very much all to play for in Group C.

Group A: While taking into account head-to-head matches, Manchester United (9 points) and Basel (6 points) can seal their place in the next round if they win their respective clashes against Benfica and CSKA Moscow.

Group B: PSG (9 points) and Bayern Munich (6 points), like in Group A, must win their respective matchups against Anderlecht and Celtic to move into the last 16.

Group C: Now, this is the tricky one. Only Chelsea can book their place in the next round this evening. Roma can't yet secure their spot, meaning Diego Simeone's Atletico Madrid are still in the hunt for qualification.

Group D: More of the same as Barcelona (9 points) and Juventus (6 points) only have to win their games against Olympiakos and Sporting Lisbon respectively to progress.

Will we have seven teams in the last 16 by the end of today? Or will we be kept waiting? Anything can happen in a competition where teams will stop at nothing to progress...
