Jose Mourinho scouted the much-desired Alexandre Lacazette, but the United boss refused to sign the striker for a very particular reason.

After weeks of speculation regarding his future at Atletico Madrid and Arsenal, the former Lyon man decided to make his way to the Premier League to join Arsene Wenger's team for a £53 million club-record transfer fee.

Another one of his suitors was Manchester United, but Jose Moutinho decided to give up on negotiations for the Frenchman for a reason he believed to be very simple. A portion of Lacazette's goals did not come from open play.

'Lacazette was followed because he was one of the best goalscorers in French football, but many of his goals came from penalties', Jose Mourinho assured.

Will the Portuguese manager be proven wrong and will Alexandre Lacezette make him regret his decision not to sign him?
