The reason why Alisson snubbed Real Madrid
After weeks of tense negotiations, Alisson Becker finally became a Liverpool player earlier this week, rejecting interest from Real Madrid in the process.
Now, 'Globoesporte' has revealed the reasons behind his decision to snub Madrid in favour of the Premier League side.
It appears that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was a major factor in the Brazilian's decision, having spoken to the former Roma goalkeeper at length both on the phone and in person to explain his vision for the 'Reds' going forward.
According to the aforementioned source, Becker was convinced from minute one, quickly signing on the dotted line.
However, the Spanish giants still held out hope at that point making an offer worth around €40m, only to see the Italians reject that bid out of hand.
As if that weren't enough, Chelsea soon joined the party with a €60m bid, but it was Liverpool's counter-offer of €62.5 that finally convinced the 'Wolves' to cash in.
