The only team not to have scored in Europe's top 20 leagues after worst start in history

August and September have gone by and Crystal Palace are yet to score and are rock bottom of the Premier League after losing their first seven games. Here are the damning stats that shame the top-flight basement boys.

Seven Premier League fixtures, 17 goals conceded, two different managers, seven defeats and not once have Palace fans seen the opposition's net ripple.

First with Frank de Boer and then with Roy Hodgson, the Eagles seem to break new ground every week. They became the first side in 129 years of the Football League to lose their first seven matches without scoring a single goal, but every weekend they set a new negative record.

They recently became the only team in Europe's top 20 competitions who have still not managed to score this season. That is, all 316 teams across the biggest leagues in the continent have found the back of the net, apart from Crystal Palace.

If that weren't enough, their 630 minutes without scoring at the start of the season is also unprecedented in the top four tiers of English football since 1990/91, when Halifax went 730 minutes without a goal.

Seven defeats in their opening seven fixtures saw the Eagles become only the second Premier League side in history, after Portsmouth in 2009/10, to lose as many games at the start of the season. Roy Hodgson's side still have the potential to beat this record.

The international break will give Palace a chance to gather their senses and attempt an impressive comeback never seen before in the Premier League. Until now, the numbers are somewhat despairing.
