Ernesto Valverde fielded a starting XI against Eibar on Saturday which will most likely feature for Barcelona against Chelsea on Tuesday. However, the main question is who will partner Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez?

With the Champions League clash only days away, attention has turned to who will be included in both sides' starting line-ups, with Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte already conceding that his squad will have to play their "perfect" game to defeat the La Liga leaders.

The Italian manager has a selection headache due to the performances of some players against West Brom and Hull City this week, but what about Valverde? His main concern is who should line up beside star men Messi and Suarez.

Against Eibar, Paulinho was chosen to partner the Uruguayan and Argentine with the Barca coach appearing to have complete faith in the Brazilian midfielder since his promotion from the bench.

The starting XI for 'Los Cules' almost picks itself this season. Even so, there is one vacant position which Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele and Paulinho are all fighting for.

Coutinho won't be able to feature against Chelsea on Tuesday given his appearances for Liverpool in the Champions League group stages, which whittles down the options by one.

So who should Barcelona go with? As reported by 'Marca' on Sunday, Paulinho will be the likely choice due to his work rate, aeriel threat and assured performances for the team already this campaign.

However, Dembele could be an ace card, sneaking into the line-up at Stamford Bridge. Although it would be a massive risk given his injury woes and lack of confidence at the moment. He could be more suited to a role as an impact sub if the tie is't going completely in the Catalan giants favour.

Apart from the three already mentioned, Paco Alcacer, Aleix Vidal and Andre Gomes could be other options, though less likely. The first two haven't featured loads this season so may not have the match fitness or experience to deal with their Premier League opponents whilst Gomes has exacerbated Valverde with his performances so far.

In short, everything points to the Barca coach opting for the same starting XI that won in Ipurua on Saturday with Paulinho partnering Messi and Suarez at the forefront of the 'Cules' attack.
