The detainees in Spanish anti-corruption operation

Spanish authorities are carrying out an anti-corruption investigation at the heart of the Spanish FA (RFEF) and four arrests have already been made.

Angel Maria Villar

RFEF president since 1988. He was re-elected for an eighth consecutive time in April. He was arrested by the Guardia Civil early on Tuesday morning for possible embezzlement, improper management and asset stripping.

Gorka Villar

Angel Maria Villar's son. Also taken into custody on Tuesday morning. He is a lawyer and Director General of CONMEBOL. Following previous allegations of wrondoing he is being investigated for Spain's friendly matches in Switzerland.

Juan Padron

Finance vice-president of the Spanish FA, where he has worked since 1984, and member of UEFA's Finance Commission. Also president of the Tenerife Football Federation.

Ramon Hernandez Baussou

Secretary General of the Tenerife Football Federation. He has also been arrested.
