It is nearly eight years since Diego Pablo Simeone arrived to coach Atletico Madrid. The Argentince has always shown love for the team and, in an interview with 'The Coaches Voice', he put it out there and explained just how much it meant to him to be part of the Atletico family.
If he had another chance to, Simeone would choose Atletico over and over again. "Atletico is my life. I spent three years there as a player, then came back and did two and a half more. Now I am spending even more time here. In total, 13 years of my life have been dedicated to this club," he analysed.
And he recalled the day he received the call from Atletico. "When I arrived, I knew the situation I was in. I had a head start. I knew the staff, the president, the seats at the Calderon, those who were sitting in those seats," he looked back.
"I always knew what the fans wanted. They wanted a team who fought for everything and I focused on this," Diego Pablo Simeone expressed.
On Monday, it will be eight years since Simeone was named as Atletico Madrid coach. many things have changed since then, but nothing will change his love for the club which he has given so much to.
