We now know the official fixtures for the 2017/18 La Liga season, which will get underway the weekend of August 19.

The fixture draw has finally taken place after a tumultuous week for the RFEF. The arrest of Spanish Football Federation president Angel Villar and several other senior officials saw the draw delayed by 24 hours but it has now been completed.

The draw was originally planned for Thursday, but was delayed until Friday following the scandal. Thankfully it was completed today and we now know the fixtures for the 2017/18 campaign.

The highly anticipated 'Clásicos':

If you're keen to see a 'Clásico' you'll have to wait until December 20, when Real Madrid and Barcelona will face-off at the Bernabéu. May 6 will see the reverse fixture take place at the Camp Nou.

The Madrid derby:

If you can't wait until December for the 'Clásico', the first Madrid derby will take place on November 19 at the Wanda Metropolitano, with the second battle for capital city bragging rights taking place at the Bernabéu on April 8.

The debut of the Wanda Metropolitano:

Atletico Madrid's new home will host it's first game on the weekend of Spetember 16/17 against Michel's Málaga.

Vitolo's return:

Vitolo will have to return to the Sánchez Pizjuán twice this season, first with Las Palmas and later with Atlético. It will be interesting to see how the Sevilla fans greet their former hero after he turned down the offer of a new contract in order to link up with Diego Simeone's side.

Leganés V Real to be moved:

One of the other Madrid derbies, between Leganés and Real Madrid will be moved. The game is scheduled to take place the weekend of December 17, however, Real will be in action in the Club World Cup the very same weekend.
