The 12 teams which will play the 2019 International Champions Cup

The excellent summer tournament has now confirmed the 12 participants of this year's edition. We have a star-studded cast looking to win the International Champions Cup. We will introduce you to them all.

A total of 11 European teams and one North American one have been chosen to fight for the most watched friendly tournament of the summer, in which the best clubs in the world face each other in preparation for the new season. 

This year, just like in all the previous editions, the list of teams is made up of sides which are full of history and are replete with stars. AC Milan was the first outfit revealed and Real Madrid the last. 

Two teams will represent La Liga in the competition: Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. Italy will have four representatives (AC Milan, Roma, Inter Milan and Juventus in which Cristiano Ronaldo features). Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will fly the flag for England. Benfica (Portugal), Bayern Munich (Germany) and Chivas Guadalajara (Mexico) are the rest of the teams.

The teams were announced gradually over recent days and this Friday, Real Madrid were the final team to be announced. The next step is find out who will meet who, something which will be decided on 27th March when the schedule is released. 

The 2019 event will be the 10th time the tournament will take place. The first one was held in 2009 and Chelsea were the winners with Club America the runners-up. 

Since then, the tournament only did not take place in 2010 and afterwards, Real Madrid won 5 editions (2 of them in the same year), the team to have won the most. PSG are second with two and seven other teams have won it once. Chelsea, Man Utd, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, Barcelona and Tottenham.
