"We can't compete with the budget of other teams." This phrase has been used a lot by former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, but sometimes, the Frenchman did not spend his money very wisely at Arsenal.

In Wenger's time at Arsenal, not all of the signings have been like Henry, Alexis, Pires and Cazorla. Bad signings also happened from time to time.

During his 20 years in charge of the North London side, Wenger has signed some realy bad players. We bring you this list of 10 players made by 'Sphera Sports'.

10. Andre Santos

He cost seven million euros and left for free after two years. He did nothing meaningful.

9. Amaury Bischoff

He suffered a lot of injuries. He played just four matches in a year. A waste of money.

8. Sebastian Squillaci

Sevilla managed to sell him to Arsenal for 6.5 million euros. The defender ended up starting, but did next to nothing.

7. Richard Wright

He was signed to take over from David Seaman, but a bad afternoon against Charlton basically ended his Arsenal career.

6. Marouane Chamakh

The Moroccan started well with 11 goals in 22 matches. But then, he got just four in his next 46 appearances. Very poor numbers for a striker.

5. Mikael Silvestre

Ferguson managed to see what Wenger did not: Silvestre's decline. United managed to sell him off and it was a very bad bit of business by Arsenal.

4. Yaya Sanogo

He had been loaned out several times and scored just once in 20 matches.

3. Tomas Danielvicius

Do you remember him? Arsenal paid 1.5 million euros for him, but he played just 37 minutes for the club.

2. Wellington Silva

Arsenal paid four million euros for the then 18 year-old. They loaned him out six times and he never played for the club.

1. Park Chu-Young

Wenger got him for 6.5 million euros, he made just seven appearances and netted once.
