Ter Stegen does not keep very good memories of Signal Iduna Park, a stadium that not only has seen some of his worst performances as a professional, but that also saw go off injured after letting 5 goals in.

At that time, the stadium did not have its current commercial name, instead it was the legendary Westfalenstadion, although the atmosphere was still as vibrant as ever. At that time, the goalkeeper was only 20 years old.

Borussia Dortmund beat Borussia Monchengladbach 5-0 within 50 minutes. Ter Stegen will have certainly not forgotten about it, and it will possibly be on his mind tonight as he faces the same rivals, including some of the same players such as Marco Reus (then the scorer of a double), Götze and Hummels

Not only did Ter Stegen make a lot of mistakes, but he also had to leave the field injured after 77 minutes. The only good thing about that was that it was Heimeroth who received the last two goals of the match.

Before that, his previous experience was another defeat, a 2-0. That's why he prefers to keep his third and final visit to the Signal Iduna Park, in which he won with 'Gladbach' 2-1.

"It's a very difficult field, we used to suffer a lot there," he said in his pre-match appearance. And although many asked him about Anfield's pain, Dortmund's ground is a painful memory for him as well.
