Joao Felix's return to Atletico Madrid has not gone according to plan. Spanish journalists caught a tense argument between the Portuguese and sporting director Andrea Berta.

Joao Felix was present when Atletico Madrid first pre-season training on Monday, but his reunion with Diego Simeone was frosty.

All because in the morning, the Argentinian coach made it known that he would not be counting on the Portuguese - who had already been stripped of the number 7 jersey, given back to Griezmann - by leaving him out of the squad.

According to the Spanish press, Joao Felix didn't like the fact that he wasn't included in either the starting line-up or the substitutes. He made this known to Andrea Berta, the club's sporting director, after the session. Journalists on the scene captured a tense conversation between the two men, during which the Viseu native is said to have had a heated argument with the 'Colchoneros' manager.

Joao Félix was loaned out to Chelsea last winter because of his poor relationship with Diego Simeone.
