Steve Corica has thrown his full support behind the notion of live broadcasting VAR decisions in the stadium, following the confusion surrounding Western Sydney Wanderers disallowed equaliser in the Sydney derby on Saturday.

Sydney FC coach Steve Corica has announced his support for the live broadcasting of VAR decisions, after his side's Sydney Derby win was marred with controversy.

It has seemed as though Sydney Wanderers striker Roly Bonevacia had set up a tight finish in the counter on Saturday afternoon, but his goal would eventually be ruled out for an infringement in the box by one of his own teammates.

Wanderers coach was infuriated by the decision, launching a verbal tirade at officials and kciking an advertising board in the air before being sent to the stands.

Match official Chris Beath spoke to the media after the match in order to clarify events, stating: "“The attacker is clearly in an offside position. His actual impact was on the defender, on Zullo’s ability to play the ball. It was only picked up by the VAR. From a technical point of view, the offside is the correct decision.”

Wanderers boss Babbel would also later issue an apology to all those who bore witness to his angry reaction to the match events, telling the media: "I have to apologise, my body language wasn’t good after this [decision]. But I hadn’t said a word against the referee."

Babbel continued to explain his reaction in his post match press conference: " I could see it on the screen. No one has to explain me this.I have a different opinion about this. Where [do you] want [him] to go? He is not air, he has to stay, the defender can run around him.”

A-League boss Greg O'Rourke revealed this week that the governing body was lobbying for the explanation of VAR decisions in real-time within stadiums.
