Fernando Llorente has handed Swansea boss Paul Clement a boost by returning to training.

The Spanish international trained with his team-mates on Tuesday for the first time since fracturing his arm after falling off his bike during a family cycling holiday.

Though his return to the training pitch is undoubtedly a boost, the former Sevilla man is not in contention for Swansea's game against Manchester United on Saturday.

Swansea boss Clement told the club's website: "Crystal Palace is a possibility (for a return to action). We will see.

"Because of the nature of the injury to the arm, he lost a lot of upper-body bulk. He managed as well as possible to maintain his cardio-fitness, but he is going to have to rebuild that upper-body strength which he wasn't able to work on while the arm was fractured.

"We will take it day by day with him. Hopefully he will respond well to the training and will be available soon."

The 32-year-old was a key player as Swansea avoided relegation last season, scoring 15 goals in 33 Premier League games in South Wales, leading to rumours of interest from Chelsea.
