Two German men have been arrested and sent to prison without bail after being accused of raping a girl in Ibiza. This is according to 'El Periodico de Ibiza and Formentera'. Stuttgart later confirmed that their midfielder Atakan Karazor was the man responsible.

The judge in Ibiza has ordered two people with German nationality arrested this Friday to go to prison without bail after allegedly raping an 18 year-old Spanish girl.

That is what 'El Periodico de Ibiza y Formentera' says and they also report that the Guardia Civil, straight after receiving the complaint, quickly located the two men identified by the woman as the alleged perpetrators.

Likewise, they say that the incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday morning in a building located close to Cova Santia on Sant Josep street, in the east of Ibiza.

The young girl told the Guardia Civil how two men forced here to have sex in the villa they were staying at. Afterwards, the girl had to be treated at Can Misses hospital in Ibiza. The newspaper also reports that one of those arrested plays for a Bundesliga club. Both men are 25 years old.

Later on Saturday, Stuttgart issued a statement revealing it was their player who had been arrested. "VFB Stuttgart midfielder Atakan Karazor has been arrested while on holiday in Ibiza. He denies any criminal act. VFB is in constant contact with its lawyers. Since this an ongoing investigation, VFB cannot make any further comment for the time being."
