Tottenham target Davinson Sanchez reportedly refused to train with Ajax on Tuesday as he looks to force through a move to England.

The 21-year-old is believed to be one of Tottenham's top target this summer as they look to strengthen their side ahead of another tilt at the Prmeier League title.

English publication 'The Daily Mail' claims that the Colombian refused to train with his team-mates on Tuesday and instead did work in the gym on his own after informing coaches that he did not want to take part in the day's session.

The youngster received rave reviews last season as Ajax reached the Europa League final before being defeated by Manchester United and he fits in perfectly with Mauricio Pochettino's policy of buying young, hungry players.

The saame source claims that several senior Spurs officials flew to Holland on Monday to try to negotiate a deal for the player after seeing an initial £28m bid turned down.

Ajax are reportedly holding out of closer to £40m for the defender though given Daniel Levy's negotiating skills, the final figure will no doubt be much lower.

The Dutch side are reluctant to lose the player and have offered him improved terms just a year after signing him, though his refusal to train would appear to signal the beginning of the end of his Ajax career.

Should he make the move, Sanchez would become Spurs' first signing of the summer.
