Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris is confident that Mauricio Pochettino's side can make themselves hard to beat at their temporary home this season.

In an exclusive interview with 'Sky Sports', the French international said that he was hoping to pick up where the club left off last season. After they went the whole 2016/17 season without losing a game at home in the league.

Much has been made of Spurs' temporary move to the national stadium whilst they build a new home, especially given the Londoners' poor form there in the Europe League last season. But Lloris is confident that both the players and fans can make it a difficult place to come during this campaign.

"You need to repeat and repeat. It's difficult to compare Wembley and White Hart Lane, where Tottenham played for over 100 years. It's an historic place, for all the Spurs fans and players," he explained.

"But the only thing we can do is to walk out, get prepared in our mind, and to build a confidence through results and performances. I am quite confident we will reach the level that we want at Wembley.

"I can understand that for the opponent team and fans it's a big place to come, but we need to make this place hard for the opponent, like at White Hart Lane.

"White Hart Lane was a special place for all the fans, the players, and even more last season because we finished unbeaten.

"But our head and minds are focused on Wembley now, we know it is a transition before the new stadium comes next season, and we will do our best to make this our own stadium, create a real atmosphere."

The 30-year-old also admitted that the Premier League will be tougher than ever this season, but he is confident that Spurs have also improved as a team despite their lack of incomings.

"The Premier League is getting even more difficult every season, all the club have the power to attract great players. That's why it is an exciting time to play in the Premier League and face so many competitive teams," he said.

"The key is to be consistent in your performance, and we will try, like the last two seasons, to compete again.

"Every season I feel the team [Tottenham] is becoming stronger and stronger."

Is Lloris right? Can Spurs make Wembley a fortress this season?
