Southgate praises Wayne Rooney
Rooney retired from international football earlier in the week and Southgate said he palyed 'on a different level'.
Wayne Rooney officially announced his international retirement earlier this week, after making his England debut against Turkey at the age of 17.
The England manager praised Rooney, and thinks that no-one was on the same level as him.
"When Wayne came through he was at a level that's different to any of the players we've got at the moment", he said.
He believes Rooney, who scored 53 goals in 119 international appearances, is an exceptional talent.
"The really outstanding talents are very few and far between. That's where Rooney was and at the moment all of our guys have got that to prove."
