Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke may feature against his old club Bournemouth on Thursday, as he recovers from a recent illness that sidelined him for the Fulham match.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on Dominic Solanke's fitness ahead of their Premier League clash with Bournemouth.

The £65 million summer signing missed Sunday's 1-1 draw against Fulham due to illness, having been sent home by Postecoglou on the day of the match. Solanke, who has netted six goals in 17 appearances for Spurs this season, is expected to return to training on Wednesday.

"Dom's due to train today, he's still not 100 per cent but he's definitely improved from the weekend," Postecoglou stated, indicating a cautious optimism about the striker's availability.

The 27-year-old's potential return comes at a fitting time, as Tottenham prepare to face Bournemouth, the club Solanke left in the summer. Since his move to North London, Solanke has impressed sufficiently to earn a recall to the England national team after a seven-year absence.

Postecoglou will likely make a late decision on Solanke's involvement, balancing the player's recovery with the team's need for firepower against his former club.
