Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Sam Allardyce is the best English candidate for the England manager's job and believes the former Bolton boss will do a good job.
Sir Alex Ferguson and Allardyce have come up against each other many times in the Premier League, and the former United boss believes he is a good choice.
"He's got many years of club football behind him and the confidence and the reputation," he said.
Ferguson also thinks that the FA were right to go for an Englishman and not a foreign manager and thinks that 'Big Sam' is the best English manager around.
"He's certainly the top Englishman. You can search the world for a top manager but it was right to appoint an Englishman".
