As Atletico and Manchester United are just about to face off in the Champions League, Caminero has analysed the current situation of the 'Rojiblancos', who are in the midst of an identity crisis under Simeone.
"It's a very good period. The club is at a level that I believe is difficult to come down from, it's been through a lot. Everyone sees the value in a club as big as Atletico Madrid", highlighted the ex footballer of Atleti.
"Because of its history, its fans, and what the club represents, it can't come down from there. You'll always have good years and bad years, but it won't be like when I was a footballer, when one season you could've been 15th and the next you could've won the league", he added.
Caminero also made it clear that Simeone will take the situation forward: "He is not going to leave a club that has overcome a bad past and just throw games away, he is fighter, a winner and a rebel who is going to turn the sitaution around".
"It doesn't just depend on him, its also up to the players, who are winners. He is not going to give up on his task and he wants everyone to give everything they have in order to benefit the club and the team", he said.
