Futre, a legend of Atletico Madrid, spoke to 'El Larguero'. He reviewed the current state of sports and spoke of Simeone's future. He believes that the coach has a lot of time left with the Madrid team.

Simeone has a contract with Atlético until 2022, but his phrase after the debacle at Cornellà made many fear for his continuity. El Cholo had to explain his words to calm the turmoil.

Futre never had any doubts about Cholo's future. "He has been very intelligent. After a defeat he is criticised like any other coach, but in the end, he is a legend... and legends do not knock each other," he said to 'El Larguero'.

"I already said it: Simeone has to be the Ferguson of Atlético. We can't forget how the team was when it arrived and how it is now... He's going to continue, no doubt," he continued.

The cup is in the past for Futre: "When you lose to an inferior team it hurts, but you have to think about the Champions. Cornellà was better, we have to congratulate them".

Finally, he referred to Joao Felix, whom he sees as much more adapted. "He has another status. He understood the rules. He knows that when he loses he is the guilty one and that, when he wins, he is the protagonist. He is there, but when his performance drops, the criticism comes... Of course, the ones he had last year were in bad faith, now they are softer", he concluded.
