Simeone calls up Gallagher for Girona encounter, Vermeeren unavailable
Conor Gallagher is the new addition to the Atletico Madrid squad. Simeone has called up the Englishman for the La Liga match against Girona and has left out Arthur Vermeeren.
On Sunday, Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone included Conor Gallagher in the squad list of 23 players for the La Liga match against Girona, from which he ruled out Arthur Vermeeren and Santiago Mourino, in which Thomas Lemar is unavailable.
The absence of the Belgian midfielder is significant when the Spanish side must release two players in order to complete the signing and registration of Clement Lenglet, whose loan move from Barcelona has already been completed, in the absence of that requirement.
Lemar is also missing from the squad, although the Frenchman, one of the players left out of the first matchday squad against Villarreal on Monday, has been on the sidelines this week due to discomfort.
