Sevilla warns Barcelona: Kounde will not leave for 45 million euros
Barcelona will make Sevilla an offer of 45 million euros for centre-back Jules Kounde, who is also of interest to Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea. Sevilla, however, want more.
Kounde is about to change clubs, but Sevilla won't let him leave so easily. According to 'Estadio Deportivo', the Andalusian club are demanding more than the 45 million euros Barcelona are offering.
The Catalan giants do not have much more money than that to get the French centre-back, for whom Sevilla rejected 50 million euros a year ago, in a proposal that came from Chelsea.
"When we activate the second lever, we will work at a higher level. Our advantage is that many players want to come here," Barcelona president Joan Laporta said recently when questioned about Kounde.
This is an interesting target for Barcelona, who are on the verge of signing Christensen. The Sevilla man would fill the centre-back position completely for the 2022-23 season.
Sevilla will not let him leave for less than 50 million euros, at least. Chelsea, for their part, are in need of his signature due to the departures of Christensen and Rudiger, so they could make a strong bid for him in the coming weeks.
