Kounde's move to Chelsea from Sevilla has stalled. The Spanish side do not need to sell and they have already turned down the most attractive offer which they have received, 50 million euros. Despite his brilliant performances, Julen Lopetegui left him out of the draw with Elche, maybe because of a possible departure.
For this to happen, 'Mundo Deportivo' says that the La Liga side are hoping Chelsea put more money on the table. They also understand that Chelsea can afford to do it after letting Zouma go to West Ham for around 30 million pounds. That is what 'Sky Sports' and the 'Daily Mail' say.
The ball is now in Chelsea's court. The club have to decide whether they need to spend that amount of money on strengthening their back line. They have already spent big money this summer after spending 100 million pounds on Lukaku.
In the meantime, Kounde has to concentrate on life at Sevilla. There are just a few days left until the transfer window closes and, if he does not end up in West London, he will have to keep on showing his quality in La Liga and for the French national team.
